In 2004, the Ricks brothers, Jeremiah (born in Chesapeake) and Micah (born in Norfolk), teamed up with the Smith brothers from Texas, Jeremy and Jonathan, in Virginia Beach. They formed the band, Days Difference.
In 2008, the band signed with Universal Motown following a showcase for industry insiders. Disney decided to utilize members of the group to play the backing band in the big-screen version of Hannah Montana: The Movie, starring Miley Cyrus.
For their self titled album, Days Difference, collaborated with a number of top producers and writers, including Wayne Wilkins (Beyoncé, Natasha Bedingfield), Andrew Frampton (Natasha Bedingfield, Kylie Minogue), Stefanie Ridel Fair (Fergie, Pussycat Dolls), Michael Smidi Smith (Pussycat Dolls, Tupac), and Tim Myers, former bassist of OneRepublic.[citation needed] Myers and Jeremy co-wrote four key tracks: the first single “Radio Song,” the ballad “Imperfections,” “Falling Into You” and “Magnetized.”
