Congratulations to Virginia Beach's own Pharrell Williams for his 2014 Grammy collection. Williams had 7 nominations and took home 4 awards, including:

Another Virginia Beach native and super producer, Timbaland aka Timothy Mosley, also took home a Grammy Award: Best R&B Song: "Pusher Love Girl," James Fauntleroy, Jerome Harmon, Timothy Mosley & Justin Timberlake, songwriters (Justin Timberlake).

Pharrell Williams nabs the coveted Producer of the Year, Non-Classical award at the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday (Feb. 10)
The Virginia native was recognized for his production work on The Carters' bombastic track "Apeshit," Justin Timberlake's minimalist tune "Man of the Woods," Migos' head-nodding banger "Stir Fry," Ariana Grande's trap-pop ditty "Sweetener" and N.E.R.D's eclectic album, No One Ever Really Dies.
JoAnn Falletta, longtime conductor and musical director for the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, won in the classical compendium category.
Newport News native Jonathan Frank was also at the ceremony as half of the duo Frank & Deane, nominated for best children’s recording for their album “The Nation of Imagine.”

Denver Bronco's head coach, John Fox, was born in Virginia Beach, Va., the son of a Navy SEALs trainer.
Denver Bronco's Special Teams Quality Control Coach, Derius Swinton, is from Newport News and a graduate of Hampton University.
Kam Chancellor, strong safety for the Seattle Seahawks, was born in Norfolk and graduated from Maury High School and Virginia Tech.

of Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, VA., one of ten teachers who are finalists for the Grammy Awards' Music Educator Award.
The award recognizes teachers who have made a significant contribution to music education.
According to the Grammy website, the winner will receive a $10,000 dollar honorarium and be flown to Los Angeles for the Grammy Awards ceremony next month. The other finalist will each receive $1,000. Their schools will get matching grants.

Congratulations to James Michael Ray McAdoo
for his contributions in helping the
Golden State Warriors
win the NBA Championship.
Norfolk born McAdoo attended Norfolk Christian High School in Norfolk, Virginia.
After going undrafted in the 2014 NBA draft, McAdoo joined the Golden State Warriors for the 2014 NBA Summer League. On September 2, 2014, he signed with the Warriors. However, he was later waived by the Warriors on October 24, 2014. On November 3, 2014, he was acquired by the Santa Cruz Warriors as an affiliate player.
On January 19, 2015, McAdoo signed a 10-day contract with the Golden State Warriors. He made his NBA debut later that night as he came off the bench to record 11 points and 5 rebounds in the 122-79 win over the Denver Nuggets. He was not retained by Golden State following the expiration of his contract on January 29, and he returned to Santa Cruz the following day. On February 2, he returned to Golden State, signing a second 10-day contract with the team. On February 4, he was named to the Futures All-Star team for the 2015 NBA D-League All-Star Game. Following the expiration of his second 10-day contract, he returned to Santa Cruz where he played two games before being called-up again by Golden State on February 19, signing with the team for the rest of the 2014–15 season. During his time with Golden State, he's had multiple assignments with Santa Cruz earning mentions to the All-Rookie NBA D-League first team and All-NBA D-League second team. On April 26, 2015, he won the D-League championship with Santa Cruz. To add to his D-League title, he was part of Golden State's championship win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Finals.
